About me

Ferzan Demircioglu was born in Istanbul. Her interest in music started by playing the piano at a very young age and as the time went by she graduated from Istanbul Anatolia Art&Music High School and was accepted at the State Conservatory of Istanbul University. She graduated from department of Opera, with Conservatory’s high honor list by being first on her class and awarded a scholarship from the Istanbul University’s Rectors.

She gave so many solo recitals at Afife Jale Concert Hall, Ataturk Culture Center ,Cemal Resit Rey Concert Hall with an orchestra .

In 2001, she was selected to Mediterrenean Youth Orchestra and performed in every Music Festival In Morocco, Spain, Italy and France with the orchestra. In the mean time, after a very succesfull competition, she was selected to participate as a young soloist in the Istanbul International Music festival in 2002. She gave a solo recital at , “ Is Sanat Twin Towers “ .

In 2003, she was offered the Stuart Grey scholarship, which was granted by the Royal Northern College of Music, to attend the Postgraduate Diploma in Opera and Performance. After successful graduate with merit, she was offered to attend her ” Professional Performance” program in RNCM. During her study in England, she gave so many concerts and had a great opportunity to work with such talented and famous Opera Singers. Moreover, she had a chance sing in such spectacular Opera Singers’ master classes.

In 2006, she was selected to be a Turkey’s finalist for Hans Gabor Belvedere Opera Competition in 2006, and she was one of the hundred people who were granted to sing for this Opera Competition from all over the world .

Overall, she worked with such wonderful Artists and teachers, and attended many masterclasses. Some of them are; Prof.Gerd Uecker, Jean Mallandaine , Lynne Dawson, Paul Wynne Griffiths, Nicholas Carthy, Rosalind Plowright, Nicholas Carthy , Stefan Janski, Sandra Dugdale, Thomas Schulze, Susan Roper ,Dr.David Jones, Nicholas Muni,Carla Rae Cook, Dr.Anton Belov, Dr.Arlene Shrut and Rita Shane.

She gave many solo and chamber music concerts all over the world and besides opera, she also trained as a Musical Theatre singer . She sang many classical musicals, such as Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story, Kiss me Kate, Porgy and Bess, My Fair Lady, King and I, Les Miserables and so on .

She had been teaching voice in Opera and Musical Theatre Departments in Istanbul University State Conservatoire between 2006 and 2012. She had been given two awards for her students’ successful performances .

In 2011, she came to Usa to sing in the Atlantic Music Festival,and in 2012 , she was granted a scholarship from Atlantic Music Festival .

At the moment, she is working on her own album and she still lives in New York .
